Autodesk-- Although our smartphone & tablet cameras are getting better as time goes on, our photography skills may not take the same path. Thankfully there are free applications that will allow us to manipulate and edit those pictures to make them look fantastic, the application I’ll be discussing here is called Autodesk Pixlr. The great thing about Autodesk and the apps they create, they actually keep them updated.
Once you download Autodesk Pixlr on your Android tablet you will be greeted with a few options, to either take a new photo, open an existing photo and then there is the ability to create a collage. In the top right corner you will notice the gear icon, from there you can change the default save size, folder location and whether or not you want Pixlr to open up in the camera mode automatically.
Pixlr as it should also be mentioned is completely ad-free, and no you don't have to spend any money to achieve this. Chromebook owners or just Google Chrome users in general may have had a chance to use Pixlr Express, the free in browser image editing app. That too is made by the Autodesk team and is also completely free to use.
With over “2 million combinations of free effects, overlays and borders”, the possibilities seem endless. In creating a free Pixlr account, any user can then have access to premium content and features like the blend and double exposure modes. Also, by using the real time effects mode you can see how a picture would look under a few different “artistic” ideas.
New effects, overlays and border packs are entering the catalog all the time, and if you have an idea or suggestion, Autodesk is listening to your Google Play reviews and tweets. Click on the link below to download the free Android Autodesk Pixlr application for your tablet and smartphone.
