Welcome to Loudon County, an enchanting part of Northern Virginia where community spirit sparkles and encourages an intensely knit community. This part of Virginia has southern grace and charm and the spirit of giving has never been lost among the many charitable organizations that dot the landscape. This February Loudon county will be playing host to a spectacular event called the Annual Chocolates Galore and More.
“Envision a room filled with the most spectacular chocolate, dessert, and hors d'oeuvre creations for your sampling pleasure. Sample delectable creations presented by favorite local restaurants and caterers who will offer some of their most creative culinary delights for tasting. Attendees will vote for Best Taste and Best Presentation in both the dessert and hors d'oeuvre categories at the end of the evening. This event is a major annual fundraiser for the YMCA Loudoun County, featuring an extraordinary silent and live auction, dancing, champagne, and the perfect ingredients to create a unique and memorable holiday gift. Proceeds benefit the YMCA Loudoun County's Building Bridges Program, which provides essential support to area families in need”
That pretty much sums up the wonderfully erotic and sensuous event called Chocolate Galore and more which is held every year in cooperation with its sponsor, the Loudon County YMCA. This year the event will be held at the National Conference Center in Lansdowne, Virginia on Friday February 21, 2014 starting at 7:00p.m. and ending at 11:00p.m. This is Loudon County’s biggest fundraising event and hopefully, many people will be able to attend this momentous evening filled with some of the area’s finest delicacies and gourmet chocolates from all over the area.
According to The Washingtonian Magazine “Chocolates Galore & More is an immersion into culinary arts, local Loudoun businesses and, most importantly, giving back. It's also YMCA Loudoun County's largest fundraiser, garnering funds that are used to help children in need take part in life-changing programs such as mentoring, camp and afterschool care. Be our guest for the tastiest and most impactful event of the year!”
The YMCA is a wonderful organization that helps teach kids the value of physical fitness. Many adults use the gym and the pools as do the children. There are many other programs offered at the YMCA, such as Spinning classes, Zumba, Tabata, Yoga, power walking, weight classes, personal training and fitness coaching and afterschool children’s programs that encourage our youth to be more active and healthy. The YMCA also offers special classes for seniors and a place for the seniors to hang out and actively engage in programs with their peers and the younger generations.
What says love more than a good old chocolate fest? February is an often cold and boring month while we all wait for spring like temperatures to come back to our area. The sun is not as accessible as it was a few months ago and with Valentine’s Day around the corner this is the perfect way to celebrate a great cause and become involved in such a great organization as the Loudon county YMCA.
