Fighting Sharknados with Jack Griffo

Fighting Sharknados with Jack Griffo
Wes Klain

The SyFy channel movie, Sharknado has become a cult classic and it has happened rather quickly. The movie is exactly what it sounds like, a tornado filled with sharks, which makes it one of the most ridiculous movies out there. However, it also makes it brilliant. So brilliant in fact that the original movie has spawned not one but two sequels.

This week the SyFy channel will be premiering the third installment of the Sharknado franchise and we recently had the chance to speak with one of the stars of the film, Jack Griffo.

BECCA ROSE: Tell our readers about what they can expect from Sharknado 3.

JACK GRIFFO: Sharknado 3 is going to be crazy!!! I haven't seen the final product yet but just based on how much fun it was to shoot, it's going to be amazing. I think fans of the past films will definitely not be disappointed.

BR: Why do you think the franchise has been such a hit?

JG: I think people just love the ridiculous hilarity of the concept, and the celebrity appearances are a huge pull. You will be watching and then all of the sudden just like, "What the heck?! Everyone is showing up in this movie and it's awesome!"

BR: What are some of your favorite films that have appeared on the Syfy channel?

JG: You definitely can't go wrong with Sharknado 1 & 2-  There's a reason why they have been such a huge hit!

BR: How is Billy different from Max Thunderman?

JG: Billy is shy, timid and soft spoken. He's really nervous to talk to girls. Max is pretty different because he's not the least bit shy. He is pretty confident when it comes to the opposite sex and definitely not shy like Billy.

BR: Where can our readers keep up with what you're doing? Are you on social media?

JG: Yes I am! You can find me at @JackGriffo on all.

Sharknado 3 airs on the SyFy Channel this Wednesday, July 22 at 9/8c
