Jada Pinkett-Smith has joined the high profile cast of Fox’s new series Gotham. Pinkett-Smith will be playing the character role of "Fish Mooney." The character is an original and has not been in any of the Batman comics.
According to a press release the character will be, “A sadistic gangster boss and nightclub owner, Fish Mooney’s got the street smarts and almost extra-sensory abilities to read people like an open book. Imposing and hotheaded, she’s not one to be crossed.”
Pinket-Smith will be working with Robin Lord Taylor, who is playing the character, Oswald Cobblepot, which is the young version of the famous villain, the Penguin. Taylor’s character is a low level gangster working for Pinkett-Smith's character, Mooney.
The focus of the show is on a young Commissioner Gordon who is investigating the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents.
