Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are really mad, again. That fantabulous marriage proposal that was tweeted and talked about was a secret. Well, only the Kardashian family was allowed to talk about it and tweet about it and give exclusives and blah, blah, blah. Somebody tried to steal their thunder and now Kimye is taking that man to court and suing him for invading their “private” moment. Private is in quotes because the shindig went down in a frickin’ stadium with a 50-piece orchestra and a ton of people there to watch it all happen and then a big ol’ fireworks show to celebrate the occasion. Really, it was a secret. Thank goodness these guys are in the entertainment industry, they would make horrible spies.
Apparently, some dude finagled his way into the AT&T Park on October 21st to see the proposal of the year go down. Don’t forget, Kim Kardashian had no idea this was happening. It was all a big surprise. Wink, wink. Anyways, when Chad Hurley showed up, the kind folks let him stay with the promise of confidentiality. They were so serious, they had him sign an actual confidentiality agreement and then took his picture of him holding the darn thing. These folks are serious about retaining the rights, oops, the privacy of any given situation.
Mind you, the cameras for Keeping Up With the Kardashians were there, because come on, this will make an excellent episode and possibly boost ratings for the show that is finally failing. And if you didn’t think money was the motivating factor, check out the wording in the lawsuit Kim Kardashian and Kanye West just filed against Hurley and his website, MixBit. “Exclusive rights, such as those sold by plaintiffs to publication of video of the event, are particularly valuable. If people violate these rights ... they are of substantially diminished value.” So, basically, Hurley stole their thunder and they want money to compensate for blowing the surprise of the upcoming show.
These two need to get their stories straight. First they make sure the entire world knows they are dating and have capitalized on their combined fame. Then Kanye West gets all crazy about the paparazzi following them, even though Kim Kardashian’s entire career is built on paparazzi taking pictures of her wherever she goes, hence the full makeup every time she steps out the door. And then Kim goes and tweets a nearly naked picture of herself to prove she isn’t fat. And her latest attempt to become more private includes her talking about checking out her vagina after giving birth and how fabulous it looked. Because that is what you do when want privacy. Nobody, talks about that stuff and blasts it on television. Have some class!
It is laughable that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are suing this guy for posting a really bad video of Kanye on bended knee. If he wanted the intimate moment to be private, maybe he shouldn’t have rented out a massive ballpark. These guys are mad because the proposal is no longer an exclusive for the E! Network and they won’t be able to sell the rights to the thing for the millions they had hoped. There is no doubt the over-the-top proposal will be an E! special. It is probably already being edited, but now they have to figure out what they can call exclusive and how much exclusive footage is really worth. Poor Kim and Kanye, their privacy is always being violated.
