Well it looks like there may be some good news after all for travelers, well especially citizens of the UK and even dual citizens like myself. Anyone following closely to what has happened recently such as the Regional Passport Processing Center in Washington being closed this past year in November of 2013. New Zealand had the last issued passport this year from the agency in March of 2014, though you shouldn't fret over it but rather be happier.
Her Majesty’s Passport Office in the UK is now the only place to obtain our renewal/new passport from now on and they have decided to make sure all of us citizens can return home at a better price.
The Consular Regional Director for North America and the Caribbean, John L. Smith stated that;
“This price reduction will be welcomed by all British expats in the region. With the cost of an emergency travel document at £95, it makes even more sense for British nationals to keep their passports up to date rather than dealing with the stress of having an expired passport when there is a sudden need to travel and relying on an emergency document for a single journey.”
The real news you are looking for is how much everything is costing with this change over, and yes it plays favor in our part as it seems to cut out the middle man(the US Tax! Tax! Tax! Government). Even better news is we can do this all online, which makes things a whole lot easier.
