Microsoft looks to have another phone manufacture under their contract with reports showing Sony is going to be closing in on a deal to start 2014 off right with both companies almost signing it. Sony has produced phones for Google's Android operating system for the past few years, this sudden change could be due to not making that big of a splash as they wanted to and now look to build a stronger partnership with Microsoft. The rumors are also stating that a prototype of a smartphone has already been agreed upon with the 2 companies, however it’s not known what brand the device will fall under and it could still be remaining as the Xperia model line

Windows acquired Nokia for just over $7 billion a few years ago,  showing the recent news it seems Sony doesn't mind either and looks to take part in producing the Windows mobile phone. Each company still needs to agree on a few more details before it’s going to be finalized, such as what software is going to be pre-installed and how the agreements will be contracted to the consumers.

ZTE Corporation is a Chinese company that has also been in negotiations with Microsoft about building a budget priced phone. HTC, LG and Acer have all been mentioned in negotiations in building a new line of Windows phones as well, a motto that looks to start the season off strong with the direction Windows is going during the 2014 calendar year.

If Windows based phones started producing sleek new phones and tablets by the end of the year, would you consider switching from Android or Apple over to a Windows phone? Is it the operating system you don't like currently and not just the phone model options you have to choose from? Leave your comments below on your thoughts with Windows making a move to increase their smartphone production and your ideas on what could make you consider switching from your current service over to Windows.
