The Top California Destinations: Beaches, Deserts, Forests & Snow

CALIFORNIA-- Looking for a vacation or just something to do in California is probably one of the easiest places to do it in comparison to other states. Once you have eliminated the obvious destinations in a state, usually the ones that are a tourist hotbed full of long lines and over priced items most states won’t have much else to do. Let’s take a look at some of the things you can do in California, home to deserts, beaches, snow covered mountains and lush green forests.

The Desert

The desert is the perfect place for those that are looking to ride their dirt bikes, off road vehicles or just camp out in warm weather with good times with some fantastic natural sights. Some of the more popular desert based areas in California that has something to do are as follows;

Mono Lake South Tufa Preserve

Rainbow Basin

Afton Canyon

Crowley Point

Darwin Falls

Zabriskie Point & Golden Canyon

Tahquitz Canyon

Lava Beds National Monument

Amboy Crater

Kelso Dunes

Trona Pinnacles

The Beach

With the sand between your toes and the sun at your back, the beach can be a magical place that seems to help heal the inner you. In reality I could just name the entire coast of Southern California as the beach to visit, but here is at least 10 beaches you should check out.

Coronado Beach

Main Beach Santa Cruz

Huntington Beach Pier

Venice Beach

Baker Beach

Malibu Beach

Dockweiler State Beach

The Snow

While the sn might be hma cuso California, there still are some fantastic places to visit. Snowboarding, Skiing and sledding are all things to do, but if you are not into those type of activities then don't worry, there is plenty of other things to do. Here is a list of the best places to find things to do in the snow in California, though you my need to check ahead if it isn't in the winter months.

The Forest

So maybe the sand, water or snow isn't for you, the forest areas in California are also a great place to visit. Here is a small list of some of the best wooded areas in the State of California, you can visit the beach, snow, desert and one of these forests all in a day, though I would tell you to plan a few days just so you can enjoy it.
